Abstract	School constitutes the most important component in the system of education, as it is indispensable to secure social congruity, to prepare young generations to successful and efficient fulfillment of social functions and to safeguard collective and individual development. The publication is a representation of interests of researchers from 5 countries (Poland, Latvia, Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia), all concerned with the investigation of school reality in the context of needs and difficulties experienced by the most important participants of the educational process: children.
