Abstract	"In this article we investigate minors' narratives on violence. The theoretical framework for the study shapes a social constructionist understanding of children and young people as active social agents who "produce their own culture while simultaneously contributing to the production of adult societies" (Corsaro, 2005, p. 4). Through story-telling, minors reproduce the phenomenon of violence by describing and interpreting their experiences. The methodological framework forms the narrative analysis that is retrospective meaning making. The analysis is based on the empirical data of five studies. Teenagers reconstruct hierarchical systems while communicating with each other, where norms and rules are established by using different kinds of aggressive methods. The minors' relations are essentially influenced by the adult-like relation manner; however, minors are stricter and their categorisation and assessment of people and events are more black and white. Therefore, their behaviour is wilder but also more honest compared with adults'. The impact of adult culture is especially seen in the reproduction of traditional stereotypes concerning gender, age and power. In addition, young people reconstruct the most prevailing myths of rape and victim-blaming. It also appears that in the minors' narratives, adult people appear as passive bystanders or perpetrators while the rote of supporters or helpers is almost invisible." (author's abstract).
