Abstract | The Thematic Network of Teacher Education in Europe (TNTEE), funded by the European Commission under the SOCRATES programme, organised together with Comité National d'Evaluation (CNE) in France a workshop focusing on the evaluation of teacher education and the specific problems being involved. Thus the workshop brought together two categories of participants - specialists in the domain of evaluation, mainly from national evaluation agencies, and experts in the field of teacher education. In order to provide participants with some background information on recent trends and problems in teacher education in the second half of the 1990s, since the publication of the SIGMA report in 1995 (which investigated fundamental problems of European cooperation under the ERASMUS/ SOCRATES programme., e.g. teacher education) an effort was made to assemble updates from all Member States of the EU. These updates are now published in this volume. Each contribution is documented separately. (DIPF/Kr.). |
