Abstract | Indigenous populations in Latin America have reached a "relative cultural revival" in last years and claim recognition of their culture and equal opportunities. So "it is essential to re-examine the education system and make it more tolerant of cultural and linguistic pluralism, as well as more capable of coping with differences.... In this context Bolivia is instituting various constitutional and legislative reforms that should help to build a different nation and to lay the groundwork for a process of democratization and development with greater and willing participation by all sectors of population ... This article presents the educational reform under way in Bolivia, highlighting its psycho-educational foundations through an analysis of its organizational and curricular structures, and showing how they promote the linguistic and cultural rights of the differenz population groups, thereby producing a more equitable and better-quality education system."
