Abstract | This paper examines four extracts taken from semi-structured interviews conducted with secondary school teachers. A discourse analysis is performed on these extracts, the aim being to identify some of the discourses which maintain adult-child power relations in a hierarchical and oppressive way. The paper ... examines some of the previous psychological research done on bullying. The overall aim of the paper is to locate bullying as a discursively organised phenomenon, rather than something emerging from particular young people's personality types. (DIPF/orig.) |
